I hated Secret Santa as a kid. Mainly because I always got some kid I didn’t like. It was so bad one year, half the class didn’t give anything to the other half of the class. Word must have spread about our poor participation rate to the teacher the following year, because she watched us pick a name out of the hat then wrote down who we had. I guess knowing the teacher knew who we picked would scare us into participating more regularly.
