This year marks the 100th year that my ancestors along with more than a million other Armenians were brutally massacred or deported on death marches through the Syrian desert during the Armenian Genocide. I pray that we’ll have our day for a fair trial. #NeverForget
I’ll leave you with a quote by the great writer William Saroyan:
“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.”
P.S if you were wondering, yes that is Mount Ararat in the distance!

Can I link to this on my blog? It’s a very nicely done piece of art, and I definitely agree that 1.5 million Armenians can not have been brutally murdered in order for the rest to disintegrate into sectarianism, racism, and pessimism (as I know too many Armenians to have done — I do not blame them, they have their reasons, but I see history as you do).
Thank you Jamal. Yes you can link this to your blog.
