I mean have you ever seen the inside of a Roman cathedral? Its ridiculously opulent and beautiful on the one hand but about as far away from the message of Christ as one can conceive of. If the stories of Jesus are to be believed he would be much more at home amid the poor, the lepers, the prostitutes.
